Puis vint le tour de Racine, groupe à tendance New-Wave mené par une blonde péroxydée déjantée. Elle arrive sur scène la clope au bec, le slim parfaitement taillé, une dégaine tout droit sortie des eighties, le t-shirt engagé : Every song is dope, signé herself. Elle est également escortée par des musiciens semblant porté l’étiquette made in London : aux percus, j’aperçois le sosie de Sébastien Tellier, à la gratte un mec qui ressemble à un ado aux cheveux gras mais qui devait être certainement plus âgé que moi, à la basse, un espèce de jeune lord anglais avec le foulard noué autour du cou (et pour le coup, un slim qui lui tenait bien chaud les fesses aussi) et au clavier un goldenboy complètement absorbé par son jeu de scène, à fond dans son tambourinage de notes. La bande ne tarde pas à mettre le feu à la salle, qui s’est remplie au fur et à mesure et qui s’est mis au diapason. La chanteuse, tantôt braillant, tantôt chantant dégage une énergie communicatrice. T’as les hanches qui commencent à faire des mouvements circulaires, puis tu te mets à taper des pieds, pour finalement t’apercevoir que ta tête se balance, fait des oui, puis des nons. Attention, furieusement dansant..!!!

Nick Speaks….!!!!

This is the infamous Australia MTV interview from 1989.

When Nick Sayer did his ONLY major television interview.

(he was clearly self conscious about his obvious lisp..)

Wendy speaks about being strong enough to refuse drugs when they are offered to you.(?!?)

Cough….practice what you preach….cough.

During the course of Transvision Vamp (1986-1991)

Nick only did about 5 interviews in total.

Mostly magazines

This is basically the ONLY t.v one.

Wendy did 99% of the them.

Nick ended up with 99% of the songwriting royalties.

Wendy didn’t.

Smart Nick.

Wendy said in 1989 Nick was her best friend ever and her ex-boyfriend…

Wendy claims now she NEVER had a relationship with Nick Sayer.

Sure babe…whatever.

An easy mistake to make.

Looks very strange and fascinating doesn’t it?…

Tex is pretending to play (bang) the drum kit badly.

(but only the symbol is being slightly touched..See?)

Dave and Nick are obviously playing their guitars to some other song..

They aren’t even vaguely in “sync” with the song’s structure.

Wendy looks like she is giving birth.

Ask her to sing this song at the next Racine gig…

After all she co wrote it.

Tink……”Would You Like A Mars Bar..?”

This is the first part of the Tinkerbell interview…

Wendy has just been performing “I Just Wanna” for the very first time publically

(You have to understand everyone thought it was a guaranteed hit..no doubt about it)

Yes….Wendy IS wearing high heels shoes…

and the two men still tower over her.

The other guest on the show later was Maureen Lipman (actress and comedienne)

Wendy got into a “disagreement” with her when she criticised her for “selling herself ” to a UK telephone company.

(Maureen is jewish and had played a “stereotypical jewish mother” in the very popular commercials..)

Maureen L reminded Wendy that she had been sponsored by Levi’s Jeans (a jewish company) in 1989

and worked for Universal which had a large number of jewish shareholders..

and said that “at least I didn’t sell myself naked..” (half jokingly and got a round of applause)

The rest of the interview was frosty to say the least.

A week later Wendy appeared in the jacket and piled up hair image .

This is the very first “public” interview for “I Just Wanna” in 1991.

Although Wendy is a bit “tired from doin’ a bit of mimin’..”

This was a UK chat show called “Aspel”

(The presenter was Micheal Aspel thus the stunningly unique name)

The other guest in Micheal Palin (Monty Python..World Trips..Nice guy etc)

Wendy is showing off her (short lived) Slutty TinkerBell look..

She is obviously looking forward to 1991….nothing can go wrong can it?
(cue Jaws theme tune..!)

Each of the 4 potential singles from the album were to have a “different” look

The next one was Looks Could Kill’s “We’re Screwed!” look.

There were no more after that.

Wendy does her “American accent” in this part of the interview…

An Alcoholic Interviews Another Alcoholic…

This is Craig Ferguson interviewing Wendy in 1991.

Craig is now a well know actor and chat show host in the US.

He openly admits he was an Alcoholic.

He says he was drunk from the late 80’s until 1999.

Wendy is using her “hoarse” voice as she has just been singing.

Craig is obviously drunk.

Robin Williams…..

These are the final two parts of the Irish Interview from 1991.

It contains the strangest answer she has EVER given to a question.
