Well frankly humour.I put the words into the mouth of the Lady Du James (W’s alter ego in reality) and because she (Lady J) is such a spunky,feisty,quick witted,independent girl it actually comes across as very flattering to W.Thus DryBaby doesn’t join Jakob and others in Racine’s Special “Waiting Room Of Eternal Night”…

In fact I even have her critizing me (DryBaby) from time to time to show I can take it as well as give it.A constant barrage of criticism towards W would become boring very quickly (and frankly unpleasant) and I have been very honest about my failings too.

As I have said before you deal with W,you respect her (which odd though it may appear I actually do) but you don’t take any shit from her (which I clearly don’t) and be prepared to (metaphorically) smack her bottom when she clearly needs it..

Judging from the mail I get the vast majority of people side with Lady J and genuinely like her.Why else would such large numbers come her to read the Blogs daily?

Just to watch a woman being humiliated?…No

Just to watch me being a smart arse?….No

Just to giggle and laugh at the funny situations, dialogue and comebacks?..Yes

To root for Lady Du James and say “good on ya! shine on ya crazy diamond” ?…Yes

Keep up with Racine “activity” but not through the misguided filter of TRW?…Yes

That is how I “get away with it” and considering it is no biggie for me to do it.I am happy to do it.

“What is the inspiration for the name DryBaby?”

Well,I gave up alcohol in 2003 so I am now what they call Dry and I wanted to have a name/handle which is snappy and catchy like Litten was (and before that Charm).I also knew that I wanted it to be a cult movie reference with a Baby in the title so it was either ‘Confessions Of A Trick Baby’ (starring one of my favourite actress Natasha Lyonne ) or something else…

So…’CryBaby’ after the the John Water’s movie (the kinda sequel to Hairspray)

add the Dry bit because I don’t drink.

and voila..
